Service description

The Made Open website is a social network that allows anyone to share ideas, connect with like-minded people and make a difference to their community.

This description of the Made Open Services should be read in conjunction with our End User Licence Agreement.

Definition of a "Project"

A Made Open project is a social cause thats requires people's time, money and/or materials to achieve an end goal.

Project Acceptance Criteria

You acknowledge that for your Project to be accepted on our website, your Project must:

  • Add social value to a community, group or individual;
  • Present a clear goal and measurable end point; and,
  • Present a clear explanation of how you will use any pledged money, time or materials.

We reserve the right to reject project submissions or remove projects which do not meet the above criteria.

A submitted Project may not be accepted onto the site until it has been approved by Made Open. Usually, the period for approval is 72 hours. We reserve the right to obtain a reference prior to accepting a new project onto the website.

Crowdfunding Commission Fees

Where a user pledges a fiscal donation to a project (and that project reaches its target), the following commission fees are applied to that fiscal donation:

a) 2.4% third party payment processing fee;

b) £0.20 third party fixed administration fee; and,

c) 3% commission fee charged by Made Open Communications Ltd.

The above fees may be amended from time to time and such changes will appear here.

Should you pledge £10 to a project; 24p goes to the third party payment processing fee, 20p goes to the third party fixed adminstration fee and 30p is taken as our commission fee. This means £9.26 gets donated to the project.

The role of Made Open

Made Open is a social network where people, communities and organisations can unite around shared interests. The platform invites users to share ideas, make connections, raise money, access volunteers and form project groups / teams. Registered users can support each other to solve problems in their community.

We will occasionally provide tips and other guidance to help users deliver successful Projects. From time to time we may choose to promote and advertise certain Projects. We will not be directly involved in the management of Projects listed on the website.
