What can we do to support those who feel lonely in our community, especially around Christmas?

judehann - If you are in redruth, there is an open Christmas lunch on Christmas Day at the Elms... see here for the contact details: www.cn4c.org.uk BUT its not just at Christmas peple are lonely and we ened to be better at connecting wiht those around us... what about open lunches or a hub for shared activities - a bit like a dating site but for those wanting to do particualr activities?? (ege - if I am interested in playing badminton - can I find someone else to play with??

ianj - Whey not volunteer, lots of opportunities to get involved, to befriend or be befriended www.volunteercornwall.org.uk - Lonely This Christmas campaign currently running, supporting people in their home, in hospitals and in care homes. Join a local group like a time bank, get involved in your community such as environmental and health activities, leisure, culture, conservation etc. possibilities are endless.
